Talk to Me is a horror film that came out in 2023, which follows a group of teenagers using a haunted object ( The Sculpted hand) to contact the hand and become possessed by the spirits they let in for 90 seconds. This film has a plot similar to other films involving a haunted object or an Ouija board to contact the dead. Still, it makes this familiar concept fresh by making it an obvious allegory for drug use. While at the same time dealing with themes of mental health and grief respectfully. It’s one of the best horror films of all time, with outstanding performances from the lead actress and the other actors, great direction, and writing. Let’s say this is a perfect film, and I highly recommend it if you are interested in films from independent creators or just want to see something new come out of the horror genre. Fair warning: this film doesn’t hold back on the themes that I have mentioned dealing with drugs and mental health, so viewing discretion is advised.
