Slaughter Beach, Dog is actually born from writer’s block. Former Modern Baseball vocalist Jake Ewald began a solo project, later including the Modern Baseball bassist Ian Farmer, All Dogs’ Nick Harris as guitarist, and Superheaven’s Zack Robbins as drummer. The band is titled after a town in Delware, simply adding “Dog” to set it apart from a European band with the same name. Today, we’ll be listening to the EP Motorcycle.jpg, which includes the two former Modern Baseball members. Afterwards, we’ll listen to Birdie, which includes the entire line-up. Finishing off, we’ll check out Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling, which was written and recorded solely by Jake Ewald during COVID.
