When I was younger I struggled with depression and the general growing pains that come with being a teenage girl. Much of my adolescence was spent finding ways for me to feel okay with my life and in my body. I remember in 6th grade making a surf rock/indie playlist and laying in a lawn chair in my backyard in the middle of winter. I would sit for hours pretending I was at the beach; or really anywhere but home. This music really gas-lighted me into a happier place than I was at the time, which I feel absolutely applies to today’s life. This playlist was inspired greatly by this experience, with some of the original songs included. Featuring Twin Peaks, The Clean, The Pesos and Jesse woods, this playlist lives your indie beach dreams. I also wanted to include some photos I’ve taken on my camera that really symbolize this playlist, enjoy!
