This is my long awaited, greatly anticipated, 80’s mix. I have been dying to do an 80’s only playlist since I first started here at KPSU. When I think of the 80’s as a music genre, I think of sythpop and new Wave, but wow when I actually got to comb through all of my music for this playlist, I realized I probably have just about every genre I consistently listen to, being played in the 80’s. I was very excited to broadcast this playlist and I’m excited to talk about it here today. Some genres from this playlist include experimental rock, post punk, indie, shoegaze, grunge. My Highlighted artists/bands for this week are Tirez Tirez, Meat Puppets, The Clean, and Camper Van Beethoven. I also included three songs that art not from the 80’s, but really capture the sound of that time period. These songs include Lipstick by Ariel Pink, Spray Paint by Deeper, and All My Love And All Your Love (Together We are Fine) by Part time.
