This episode we visit the iconic D.C. hardcore scene. This playlist was not super chronological, i wanted to include more melodic tracks since the D.C. scene is heavily associated with the origins of emo (songs from Jawbox, Faraquet, The Dismemberment Plan, and from Fugazi’s Instrument album). I also talked about a pivotal character, Ian Mackaye, and read the following transcript posted on Apple Music’s description of the band Embrace,

“Anyone who ever wondered how hardcore pioneer Ian Mackaye could make such a drastic transition from the gritty, explosive, and terse music of Minor Threat to the expansive, melodic, and unpredictable sound of Fugazi can find the answer in Embrace.”
