The End Radio Collaborative Playlist

 

This week I wanted to do another themeless show, but this time, my friend Ruby co-hosted with me as well as made the playlist with me through Spotify’s collaborative playlist feature! Ruby had the idea to add to the playlist throughout our work days. The final verdict of the vibes were “strung out.”

We talked about how Sebadoh and Dinosaur Jr. were featured on this playlist, and their connection through Lou Barlow. Ruby spoke about how the band Calm is the in-between project consisting of members from two bands we both enjoy, Mohinder and Duster. We spoke about Team Dresch, which has been featured on The End radio before in the PNW show, and I mentioned how the singer Kaia Wilson has some great solo music streaming. Ruby pointed out that the Low Life song is a cover of M.E. by Gary Numan, and we jokingly debated about why it was spelled “Emmie.” The verdict- british (?)

This was a very fun idea and Ruby was an excellent guest! I definitely plan to do more shows like this with co-hosts/collaborative playlists.
