In The Gutter #3: The Flintstones

Written by on December 1, 2021

Finally, got the chance to talk about one of the funniest comics I’ve read in a decade. Mark Russell and Steve Pugh made a real underrated masterpiece.

This was the first episode of In The Gutter that I decided to do pre-recorded. It went about as well as any of my first attempts at anything but I think it went better than the live broadcasts. I enjoyed the challenge of doing live shows and not having the security of a good editing room. But I chose to be a DJ to practice my audio engineering, and increase my creative output. I love improv but I think I can be more entertaining this way.

Anyway, here’s the most disturbing things I found from Flintstones:

Dick York, played here by that evil puppet from Goosebumps and Elizabeth Montgomery
Jimmy O’Neil’s head surgically attached to a malnourished body

I’ll also share this image from the comic that I think exemplifies a lot of its themes:

I’ll also share this video I found of Pebbles and Bamm Bamm singing a song that will haunt me for the rest of my life, I share it now with you.

Be good to each other everyone!
