Written by on October 17, 2022

Stitting as the backdrop to the Portland skyline with over 5,000 acres of beutiful nature lies Forest Park. Doug-firs, Wesetern Hemlock, and Western Red-Cedar fill the canopy along with countless species of animals and plants. Filled with over 70 miles of hiking trails, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, explore, and learn what the forest has to offer to those who choose to appreciate it’s beauty!

Mushrooms along the trails

Butressed roots showing that this tree started it’s life on a nursing log/stump. Over long years the stump has decomposed leaving a hollow space where the roots grew around.

Thank you for tuning in today and join me next week as we explore the l life of the magnificant snail and other little forest creatures.
