Welcome back! It’s been a bit, but we’re back in the swing of things (for a few more shows at least). This week is heavy on the country, with just a smattering of blues and rock n’ roll. Mostly songs for those late summer days when we’re all just waitin’ for something new to come along. There are also a few special surprises! For one, this week features a miniature showcase of queer country from Wilma Burgess, Blackberri, Lavender Country, and, if we bend the rules a little bit, Jack Derrick. For two, a rare-ish (not on YouTube!) and supremely charming ’87 performance by Harry Dean Stanton and John Doe from McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica. And, if that’s not enough Harry Dean, check out the video below, in which Dolly, Linda, and Emmylou sing from inside a microwave!
