Pointless Forest Stroll 8 (6/16/23)
Written by Maxwell Kline on June 16, 2023
THE PATH WAS HARD AND TREACHEROUS this week in the Pointless Forest! Stuck between a folksy rock and a metallic hard place, we found ourselves on the steep path north. Utterly surrounded by sludge, doom, and stone..
And luckily we all had on our best hiking boots, for the scene only grew more entrancing after each riff and ridge. Bouncing around, we heard deep cuts from Nirvana’s most metal album, Bleach, as well Kyuss’ Blues for the Red Sun; all on the steep climb towards the Holy Mountain of Sleep.
Pausing for a auditory snack, we found ourselves deep in conversation about the history of the dreamy, guitar-laden, 40-second track that accompanies every metal album. All signs point to Black Sabbath as the originator, and we spent a good amount of time lavishing in Sabotage.
All in all we may agree that the going was steep and treacherous… but it was a lovely walk.
Hopefully you can meet us (right here where we left off!) for our next stroll, June 30th, from 8-10pm (PST).
Much Love,
DJ Maxwell and the rest
