Diego Campollo Interview | Wizards PDX, Four Promotions, and Event Coverage | 6.5

Wizards PDX is a record label focused in the Portland, OR area that throws events at local venues in the name of charity. Proceeds for the events go towards helping a small community in Guatemala. With the funds, they provide textbooks, new concrete, renovation, new bathrooms, and general items needed to run a school in the community.

Diego Campollo came in to KPSU to discuss his journey with creating this label as well as his agency Four Promotions which works with artists around the world in music, art, and more. Diego also DJ’s with his cousin, Fernando.

The mission that Diego has created came from an event he threw on a beach out in Guatemala where there was a school nearby that he saw that was in bad shape. He slowly connected with the principle, and school board and he started to run events to help them. That is where the phrase Dance to Help comes into play.

This is an all around great idea for the health of the world. Having fun by dancing to generate wealth in third world countries is something that should happen all around the globe. I hope this interview creates positivity for all the people out there and can maybe spark some ideas for the future of music & art events.
