We’re bringing you a mix of some new school hip hop songs in this mix of Lilwami’s Sound Wavez. Lilwami is not one to play new school hip hop songs on the radio, but to expand his DJing skills he decided to take a shot and mash it up on KPSU. Some artists include Kendrick Llamar, Migos, A$AP Ferg & Rocky, Desiigner, iLoveMakonnen, and Tyler the Creator. But of course we can’t play just play hiphop without a bit of electronic music on the Sound Wavez station. So Lilwami added some trappy songs from artists such as Troyboi, Baauer, Flosstradamus, Dirty Audio, Breaux, and RL Grime.
This mix came from an inspiration of Diplo’s DJ set Excess’s 7th Birthday celebration. He DJed in celebration of the Las Vegas venue playing all kinds of moods. One section of his set was just new school hip hop with songs from A$AP Ferg, Beyoncé, Rae Sremmurd, The Game, and many more artists. It was one song after another that transitioned perfectly. This mix was also inspired by the friends of Lilwami. The college party scene here at PSU is favorable of Heavy Hip Hop, New School Rap and RnB’. Its difficult for Lilwami to be surrounded by at moments just because it is the norm around the environment. He can tolerate it to a point, but then he’s gotta go back to his board and mashup some other vibes to have flavor.
