The Synth Show – 11/27
Written by Julia Trujillo on December 7, 2022
I play an hour of my favorite synth music! Synthwave and synthpop have varying definitions depending on who you ask. But the synth music I’m play is the kind I would describe as evocative of the future but in the way people from the ‘80s imagined the future. Think heavily influenced by ‘80s action, science-fiction, and horror films and video game soundtracks. I try to hone in on a specific sound tonight that retro-futuristic feeling that makes you feel like you’re in Blade Runner or Hotline Miami. This kind of music always reminds me of the sort of stuff my brother and I always want to listen to on a night drive so this show is dedicated to my bro, Jake. Get your leather gloves and scorpion jackets on, it’s time to drive!
