The House of Sarcasm #23 – Duets!
Last time, I focused on female voices. Today was all about the duets. “Duets” here is loosely defined as more than one voice!
I did break form today by playing a song that was not from a Portland band – the song “Portland, Oregon,” which is a duet by Loretta Lynn and Jack White. I thought it was fitting. Loretta Lynn was my first hero. After I saw the film Coal Miner’s Daughter as a kid, I decided I wanted to be a (country) singer. I wrote songs and sang them into the end of a jumprope “microphone” in the back of my dad’s pickup truck. Today’s show was a little bit country. Hope you enjoyed the slow, sad songs and sweet harmonies.
