The House of Sarcasm #17 – Live in the Studio with Stumblebum + Interview w/ Volume Bomb Records
On Friday, August 10 we had a live performance in the KPSU studio from local punk three-piece Stumblebum. After they tore up the sub-basement, I interviewed lead singer and guitarist Jason Rocksmore, and Sean Farrell of the Latter Day Skanks.
Jason and Sean, along with Keith Littlefield of One Drink and Other Lies, represent Volume Bomb Records. We talked about the third annual This is Portland Not Portlandia event, coming up on Saturday, August 25.
4 venues
30+ bands
One night!
The festival starts at 4 pm in the vicinity of SE 48th and Hawthorne with multiple bands playing at the Watertrough Saloon, Quarterworld Arcade, the Space Room, and the Tanker.
Many thanks to Jason and Sean, as well as to Stumblebum band members Adam Martin (bass) and Michael Speers (drums). Also, thanks to Lee for running sound, to Chuck (known around PSU Student Media as C.E. Clare) for taking pictures and getting coffee, and to all the fans who joined us in the studio audience.
A couple notes – for some reason I said “Rabbit Grab” was the name of a band, but that is actually the name of a song by Tiger Touch. Also, Sean’s mic wasn’t turned up all the way so you can’t hear his portion of the interview very well. Sorry about that. Also, sorry to be so late in posting this. KPSU has been having a number of technical difficulties lately.
