Review, Photos, Interview: FOXTRAX in Portland
Written by joe on May 8, 2017
Through the month of May, FOXTRAX will be on tour in support of Barns Courtney and stopped by Portland’s Star Theater on May 6, 2017. Check out our interview before their show here:
FOXTRAX is a band that didn’t even introduce themselves to the crowd they were playing for, until they had a few songs left. Near the end of the set vocalist Ben Schneid interrupted the set to say, “This is the first time we’re introducing ourselves but we’re a band called FOXTRAX. We didn’t think that was important until now, what is important is you all are here and listening to our music and are having a good time, we really appreciate you being here.”
FOXTRAX did an incredible job entertaining the crowd as an opening band. Aside from being a talented band with great music, this was in part due to Ben’s stage presence. Throughout the set Ben would address and interact with the crowd; prompting them to sing, dance, clap along, and keeping them involved in the show. The crowd loved every second of the New York trio, and a few crowd members swarmed the stage to meet Ben and get his autograph before FOXTRAX left the stage to welcome Barns Courtney.
As stated in the interview, the guys will be heading back into the studio to release their second EP later this year. Check out their first EP The Cabin, if it’s any indication of what their future releases might sound like you’ll want to keep an eye out for it.
