Lion-S and The Pride have deep roots in the Nelson, B.C. dance music community. Having met Hoola almost nearly 21 years ago near Shambhala at a summer “squat,” Lion-S and Hoola currently team up to co-direct Shambhala’s Living Room Stage. Nestled on the banks of The Salmo River, The Living Room lives and breathes the energy of the Living as well as those of “The Farmily” still Living in spirit. Life emanates from the two old-growth cedar trees which cradle the banks of the Salmo River, breathing life and positive energy fueling the Shambhalove.
Lion-S is a multi-genre DJ and music curator known for her blends of ethnically rooted sounds, house, and futuristic sound-scapes. Having owned a record store Lion-S has some deep crates for selections. Her musical project also expands out to a B.C. based, all female DJ collective known as Meow Mix which has played at Shambhala many times including again this year at Shambhala’s 20th. You can catch Lion-S and Meow Mix around Nelson, The B.C. area, greater North America, and of course this year at Shambhala music festival.
