In an age where live instruments are slowly making a come back after a post-modern era of EDM and computer based music Portland local Butter Baby is a fresh seed of new growth bringing fresh crops of rock music to the Portland music scene. Featuring live drums, guitar, bass, keys, and led by a powerful female voice perfectly complimented by a soothing male voice Butter Baby brings a modern bent on musical traditions of live rock music. Each song at NW Documentary was full of soul with personal and meaningful lyrics with soul deeply intertwined in each note played from each instrument. Their live set featured both pre-planned melodies and live jam sessions straight from the heart. The crowd was vibrant and lush with a clear appreciation for the live music and all the effort involved in bringing this art form to the stage.
