Chicks Rock : volume 2
Written by Agent 47 on July 5, 2015
As I’ve said before, CHICKS ROCK! It’s just a simple fact. Sure some of this personal opinion may be due to a simple appreciation, on my part, of the divergent differences. Regardless the how and why that they came about. These differences between men and women, offer a base for a different perspective on this odd experience “we” call reality. There is; admittedly, also the historical fact that I’ve: A) been raised predominantly by women, B) had more close female friends than male, C) at this point in the past 45 years have probably spent more time with women than men, (although a large portion of that is dependent on the past 10 + years).
If you haven’t listened to (read) my post content from volume 1 of Chicks Rock! I am reposting it here to give a basis for what I have chosen to include or not.
Not a comprehensive compendium of the best females in Rock. More of a page from a lengthy personal lists of some of my favorite female artists. My only delineation, that the woman be the primary artist. She could be a front woman, or singular singer songwriter, but she must have song credit and be either highly influential or simply amazing by my own selfish standards. All the artists/bands highlighted are either women, driven by women or equal share of the compostional artistry. Truth is I simply love women. What better way to promote and advance the understanding that they are as important to EVERYTHING, much less music, art or culture, than to simply spotlight amazing examples of their brilliance as rock songsmithery for an entire hour. This is only the first of what will be many installments to this show concept. This is one particulary diverse and sweet chocolate. Sort of like the Take 5 bar from Hershey’s. It’s got everything, salty, sweet, chocolate, the wondermental reality of peanut butter AND a pretzel crunch. The obvious nature of this gospel should just be admitted. Face it CHICKS ROCK!
Here are some links to some perspectives on “pay equality” and an interesting article regarding a backlash on the word feminism by the publication TIME. I can remember which one of the following infographics was “skeptical” of the gender gap in pay, but it was actually from a “women’s” site. Which I found interesting.
So much weirdness in this world that makes no sense what so ever. The treatment of women even (especially) in a “socially advanced” culture such as our own, well I find it mind boggling.
