Birds of a Feather Vol. 7 musical-connections – God

Well I’ll be damned (see what I did there), it’s another volume of Birds of a Feather. This episode of Box of Chocolates originally aired on the 1st of December, 2015. It was the beginning on what I do believe is referred to as dead week. That week before finals. I for one was feeling excruciatingly overwhelmed, outmanned and in all metaphorical and metaphysical manners on the verge of drowning in my responsibilities. It was the end of a very trying term, one which saw me taking 12 hours AND working over 55 hours a week on average. To say the least it did not feel like things were going well what so ever. So the musical-connections here was one of simply asking for help from that which is beyond us, and yet intrinsically within us. Some sort of creative force beyond this material realm. For lack of time and effort I simply called it god. All these songs have either a direct reference by content or title to heavenly residents whether it be the CEO of the universe or the temporary staffers of the afterlife. I was just feeling like I needed a little help, in order to relax, focus and do my (at the time considering how I was being metaphorically drawn and quartered) limited best. After that one must be prepared to surrender to the outcome of events, whatever that may end up being.
