Static + Distance
As my time at PSU has come to an end, so I’m also parting with KPSU. I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for you. I say goodbye with a selection of farewell songs.
I’ve missed you, KPSU. Here’s a selection of songs from the records I’ve been holding dear since we last met.
A mix of rainy day summer songs. Perhaps a bit of an elusive theme, but I did my best.
ZigZag Vinyl’s Pete LaMalfa joins me to spin through some breezy summer jams before he splits for New York. We’ll miss ya, bud.
A very special episode wherein I’m joined by DJ DJ, my pops. We played through the best dad rock of the past few decades with some of his old favorites and a few of mine.
Photo Credit: Crystal Joy Kim, John and Tammy of The Stargazer Lilies came down to the studio to play some of their favorite tracks, to discuss their new album and to perform a magical acoustic set.
We’ve finally hit the big 50. To celebrate, I pulled a stack of the best finds from my time spent digging at the forever missed Belmont Records. Thanks for listening. <3 Forgive the bumbling intro. Lenny's hammond organ shreddin' is very distracting.
A continuous mix of vinyl while covering for The Cue. 4 Note: Unfortunately, the audio dropped out in the middle of the Bobbie Gentry track I played. I’ve edited it out and segued together the track before and prior.
Conway James joined me in the studio to talk about a few of his favorite country songs before playing a couple originals. Note: Unfortunately there was a software issue during part of the interview so it had to be omitted. You’ll just have to imagine what we said about John Prine and Johnny Cash.
Jammin’ and hammin’ with a couple of the Animal Eyes boys, Colin McArthur and Tyler Figley. The two fought a post-album release hangover to share a playlist of songs, chat about them with me and then play a couple of their own tunes. What a couple of solid dudes!
