Viking Twang's Labor Day Special: Hard Times for Working People
Written by Randy Black on August 25, 2014
Hey Friends — Labor Day is coming up, so on this Tuesday’s episode of KPSU’s Viking Twang, I’ve put together my first theme show, Hard Times for Working People.
I promise it won’t be too depressing!
We’ll have Doye O’Dell telling of the wonders of California, Lewi Longmire surviving — kind of — the 1948 Vanport Flood, McKinley Peebles telling why he loves Roosevelt, and Hazel Dickens’ pride in being a union woman. Rose Maddox and her brothers will kick it off, and Tim O’Brien shares a prayer to wrap it up.
Viking Twang is live at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, and available for podcast any time you like. The Viking Twang page has the podcasts of this show and my earlier efforts, along with their playlists.
You can join — and maybe even like! — the Viking Twang Facebook page, join my Twitter account @vikingtwang, or write me at [email protected] I’d love to hear your comments. Peace, Randy
