Today I talked with musician Sarah Lane, formerly of The Late Great, and Amanda Ives, Development Manager for Raphael House of Portland, about an upcoming benefit show.

Sarah Lane, Dr. Something, and Adrienne Seely of Autopilot is for Lovers will be playing on Thursday, June 28 at Kelly’s Olympian.

All proceeds will go to Raphael House in support of their efforts to end domestic violence.  Click here for more info about this event!

We talked about Raphael House’s mission and some ways that people can get involved with helping survivors and ending intimate partner violence.

We also heard songs from the benefit’s featured performers and music from other female-fronted local bands like Xmelt and Crush Hazard.

You can click the blue download link below to listen to the complete show.  I  apologize for the technical difficulties, especially during the last song (sorry, Dreadlight!).

If you are experiencing domestic violence and are in need of urgent help, please call Call to Safety 24/7 at (503) 235-5333.  The Spanish language crisis line can be reached at (503) 669-8350.  You can also call Raphael House’s crisis line at (503) 222-6222.

Many thanks to Sarah and Amanda for joining me today!
