SHOW PREVIEW: (12/5) My Brightest Diamond @ Doug Fir
Written by Brain Eno, Weird Owl, & Softrocker on December 4, 2014
This Friday (12/5/2014), My Brightest Diamond brings its captivating brand of transcendent, experimental pop to the Doug Fir. The brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and singer/composer Shara Wardon, My Brightest Diamond draws from a diverse palette of stylistic influences to paint Wardon’s evocative songs, including folk, classical, chamber music, and underground rock. At the heart of their lush sound are Shara’s vocals. Both arresting and delicate, her voice universally commands attention, as listeners are drawn deeper and deeper into the swirling operatic soundscapes. My Brightest Diamond exudes raw, unbridled energy while expertly weaving nuanced and gorgeous melodies. It is this powerful dichotomy that consistently garners glowing accolades for their live performance. Friday’s show comes in the wake of the release of their critically acclaimed new record, This Is My Hand. My Brightest Diamond will be joined by experimental rock outfit, Rabbit Rabbit, who hail from North Hampton, MA.
Doors are at 8:00, show starts at 9:00.
