Last year, Australian independent Singer/Songwriter Ziggy Alberts has released his new album Laps Around The Sun, which he presented to his audience on his debut North American tour. Good news for anyone who missed out on last years tour or has been waiting desperately to see him perform again: Ziggy is back for yet another North American tour, playing at the Doug Fir Lounge (Supporting Act: Emily Brimlow) here in Portland on September 10th.

Ziggy Alberts – “Love Me Now”

Laps Around The Sun is filled with references to the planet – a subject close to Ziggy’s heart as a surfer and environmental enthusiast – and imagined scenarios that act as vehicles for Ziggy’s internal monologues and as subtle social commentary. At only 24 years old Ziggy has released five records, co-founded his own label Commonfolk Records, played sold out tours across the world, and his music has effortlessly amassed over 160 million streams, globally. Laps Around The Sun is Ziggy’s fifth record and the first full-length album since his 2014 Land & Sea release.

Ziggy Alberts – “Stronger”

For first time Ziggy enthusiasts, I have been promised that Ziggy is an energetic performer with songs that carry powerful messages about his passion for the ocean & environment, love stories and memories of being on the road as a touring musician. I will find out, as I will be heading to his show at the Doug Fir Lounge on September 10th, and so could you!
