Other Lives – Doug Fir – May 11th

I remember hearing Other Lives for the first time in 2012 with with Tamer Animals and thinking “I like this band, they sound pretty good.” When I heard Reconfiguration and saw the video for the new Rituals I was blown away. This band had taken the next step to true artistry. Not only was reconfiguration one of the most interesting videos I have seen in a while the track was just sick as all get out. I love the direction that this group is headed and think this could be a break out release for them. Another track, 2 Pyramids is just flat out intoxicating. I can’t wait to see what their live set is going to be May 11th at the Doug Fir for only $14.00.

This could be the last time they play a venue this small. I truly believe this album is going to hit a chord with people as more and more hear it. If you like Geographer, Sohn, Radiohead, you most likely will love this band. Before I think they were headed down a Portland Blind Pilot path which would make sense for the locals but now I think they have hit a fork and are now unique, interesting and really going to be one of the surprise best of 2015 when it is all said and done. This is a show you will regret missing!
