Musicfest NW 2014

Written by on August 25, 2014

This past week I had the chance to go to the awesome festival in Portland called Musicfest NW. Even though there was a lot of discussion of why the festival itself decided to not only reduce the amount of bands performing at venues and the fact that the event was many run on the Waterfront, the vibe at MusicfestNW was a positive one. The environment around the festival was very organized and included well known local food carts and local businesses.

I had the opportunity to not only take photos at the event this year but I also got a chance to volunteer for the event, I was put on door duty and all the staff and volunteers were really nice and friendly.

As for the bands I really enjoyed watching Tune-yards perform, I did not know much about the group but I really loved how the lead vocalist not only knew how to sing her high and low notes but she also played on noise and drum pads. The next band I really enjoyed was Haim which not only a female band but all members are sisters, but the last band that I really enjoyed was Spoon which I love the most. They were way better live and I am really glad that I got to see them perform.

Overall I loved the event and I am excited to see what Willamette will give us next festival!

Here are Pictures of some of the bands
