In-studio with Black Pool: Live concert + interview
Written by Sir Helmet on November 14, 2019
On this charming Tuesday evening, KPSU studios hosted the artist Black Pool for a session of music and conversation. Black Pool is an artist from Long Beach, California, exposing some of the latest and sharpest song-writing in the area. He played a set of eight songs, all bound to show on his upcoming studio release. The music in itself was entrancing, incorporating prepared sets and improvised tunes. The audience, a tight-knit community of music enthusiasts, family and friends, was spell-bound. Their silence and applause provided the only ambience the music called for.
On this session, he shared with us his vision on music and life. He expanded on the different influences in his music, in terms of places, languages and people. The audience got a chance to get their questions answered, further delving into the imagery of the music. Also, we received an update of the timeline to expect more music from Black Pool. It was a poetic journey of music to recharge in the middle of the week.
