Freaks and a Doc on this week's Viking Twang

Friends — If you’re a regular Church-goer, you know that the Freak Mountain Ramblers have been playing at the LaurelThirst Public House every Sunday evening for a long time. Eight hundred happy hour shows as of this Sunday, which is why we call it Church! This week’s Viking Twang on KPSU Portland celebrates the occasion with a full set of music from Jimmy, Dave, Lex, Turtle, and even Bingo, with Roger on the skins — and cowbell! Then I play music by Doc Watson, including duets with Bill Monroe and Chet Atkins. It’s on KPSU, Portland’s nationally-ranked (because the football team certainly isn’t) college radio station, streaming all the time at kpsu.org.
