Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room / Jeff Rosenstock / Pet Symmetry / Spraynard @ Analog Cafe

The Analog Café in Portland is hosting one of the most exciting punk shows of the Summer this Tuesday, August 11th. Dan Andriano is touring with his solo project, Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room. Supporting him is punk rock innovator Jeff Rosenstock. Chicago’s Pet Symmetry and Pennsylvania’s Spraynard are opening the show.
Dan Andriano (Alkaline Trio, The Falcon, Slapstick) is a legend of punk. His unique compositions, heartfelt poetry, superior bass guitar skills, and distinctive voice have given Alkaline Trio a balanced and interesting sound that’s launched the band to heights that few punk rock acts accomplish. Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room’s newest effort, titled Party Adjacent (Asian Man Records), finds this seasoned music veteran outside of his familiar 3-piece punk setting. The Emergency Room is a place where Andriano experiments with a dynamic variety of arrangements and production techniques while still delivering hooks that will have you singing drunkenly around a campfire with your closest friends in no time. It is noteworthy that Party Adjacent was produced by the DIY mad scientist himself, Jeff Rosenstock.
With New York native Jeff Rosenstock’s (Bomb the Music Industry, Arrogant Sons of Bitches, Quote Unquote Records) involvement in Party Adjacent, and considering he released We Cool? earlier this year on SideOneDummy Records, it was no surprise when it was announced that he and DA in the ER would hit the road together. Rosenstock has been making waves in the punk scene for well over a decade. His band Bomb the Music Industry’s impact on the DIY scene was profound both sonically and ideologically. His imagination and creativity have not diminished as he’s launched into his solo career.
Pet Symmetry features members of Into It Over It., Kittyhawk, and Dowsing. PS offers perfectly executed Pop with an attitude and energy suggesting the musicians’ roots may lie in heavier music. The band- obviously quite the wordplay enthusiasts- released their album Pets Hounds on Asian Man Records earlier in 2015.
Completing the lineup are Pop Punkers Spraynard. Their new album Mable was released on Jade Tree last month. Spraynard is an up-tempo rock band with emotional, personal lyrics; they will make you want to dust off that old skateboard and ride through the empty midnight city streets.
All four of these bands would be worth coming out to see as individual headlining acts, let alone all on the same bill. The Portland date is the exact half-way point of the tour; meaning the bands will be well rehearsed without being too exhausted by the road. Additionally, considering each artist on this bill are touring to promote brand new releases, show goers would not be remiss in having high hopes for incredible performances throughout the evening.
This is a lineup that people will hear about 3 months from now and bang their heads against walls for missing out. If you are interested in not being one of these people, you can find tickets here.
