12/15/12 White Noise Xmas on What's This Called?
Written by Ricardo Wang on December 15, 2012
It’s become an annual tradition now that former noise musician and booker turned circus impressario and ringleader Noah Mickens shows up every year in December to spread Christmas cheer by gifting his extensive but now dwindling noise music collection to myself live on KPSU.
Join us Saturday, December 15th from Noon to 1 PM Pacific Time to experience this year’s gifting live! Noah now listens exclusively to accordion and carnival music in keeping with his role as ringmaster of Portland’s world famous Wanderlust Circus, but once as the dark volume merchant behind such deviant forces as 36 Invisibles, Nequaquam Vacuum. and Radon Collective, he revelled in the dissonant and unlistenable. Now he listens to his collection of ultra-obscure limited edition hand decorated CDRs from the likes of Cock ESP and KK Null for one last time in public as he donates them permanently to the What’s This Called? foundation. A holiday event to warm your noisiest cockles, that brings out the Noise Elves waiting to do Santa’s dark bidding…
