An Interview with Bryan Sammis

Written by on November 8, 2016

Bryan Sammis called in to KPSU for an interview to discuss his latest project, La Bouquet. Listen for the full interview, check out the music video for their debut song “Loveless” below:

Bryan has been involved in various music projects: he began his music career at 16 with his solo project The Next Macbeth, eventually changing the name to Oliver and releasing his EP Catharsis, changing the name again to Olivver, joining and drumming for the band The Neighbourhood, leaving the band to again pursue a solo music career as Olivver the Kid, released two EPs Freak and The Boy Who Cried Wolf and along with a couple singles under that name, and now retiring that project to start the new music duo La Bouquet with Jake Lopez.

After releasing the final Olivver the Kid song “Pink Tires. Smile Lines.” and posting a letter to his fans announcing the end of that project, Bryan will still be creating music with Jake as La Bouquet. Bryan called in to talk about and explain everything that happened: from ending Olivver to the beginnings of La Bouquet, and making their upcoming debut album. Their album is finished and mixed, will be released soon, and we might get another single before the year ends. To those familiar with Olivver’s studio music, and demos, a new version of Loser Baby will be on the La Bouquet record. Listen for the full interview.
