Who knows what these kids will play...but they pick up the broadcasting thing quick!!!
Is this Music? is a radio show On KPSU 1450 AM that defies the laws of nature and sound, conversely the sounds of nature and the nature of sound, space and even, time. The forces at work behind this epic eclipse of noise are more mighty than even the mightiest sword and dwarf the combined magical powers of Ronnie James Dio and JRR Tokken
KPSU Rewind replays some of the most memorable KPSU broadcasts in KPSU's history. You can contribute by voting for your favorite shows! Contact production@kpsu.org or programming@kpsu.org to cast your votes.
Playing a mix of bargain basement LPs, sidewalk sale cassettes, merch bought at shows, field recordings, comedy, instructional materials, etc.-- as well as NEW music that the professor determines is not receiving its proper due.
This show is a place for different DJs to showcase programming that you won't find anywhere else. From in-studio performances, old episodes of our favorite programs, or produced pieces for one-time broadcasting, this show is an ecclectic mix of what our station offers every single week.
Every week a new mix of a vast assortment of beat driven music. Following Detonate, i usually begin with somthing leaning toward funk, hip-hop, trip-hop or soul. I progress through the set with things like, downtempo, club jazz, acid lounge, turntablism or dub-step. And work my way up with some things electro, experimental, house, mashes, etc... to set up Mixtress 31avas and Severe Exposure immediatly following my show.
Rock, rap, hip-hop, punk, ska, indie and more genres mostly in Spanish and some Portuguese spanning from the Straight of Magellan to the Rio Grande and across the Atlantic to the Iberian Peninsula. On the air since 2003, Sudamerican Rockers is KPSU's first and only Ñ Alternative program. La misión: play contemporary Latin American music that is not commonly heard on US radio stations and programs, alternative from all the crappy imported pop. Mostly stuff from South America since it is less known... and because DJ Pedro is from there.
