Who knows what these kids will play...but they pick up the broadcasting thing quick!!!
Is this Music? is a radio show On KPSU 1450 AM that defies the laws of nature and sound, conversely the sounds of nature and the nature of sound, space and even, time. The forces at work behind this epic eclipse of noise are more mighty than even the mightiest sword and dwarf the combined magical powers of Ronnie James Dio and JRR Tokken

I personally really like Jello Biafra. I know I’m going out on a limb on this one; with the problems that rose up in the wake of DK disbanding, and then later the trial over the ownership of the back-catalog, many took that as the last final nail in the already putrescent coffin that was any shred of decency that punk rock used to have. But one forgets that punk in only just now reaching middle age, and the misdirected anger and “fuck all” attitude it used to have now has to change and evolve to be able to stay current and relevant in the time that’s passed.

But one forgets that punk in only just now reaching middle age, and the misdirected anger and “fuck all” attitude it used to have now has to change and evolve to be able to stay current and relevant in the time that’s passed. Jello, then, is only doing his best to adapt, and you can tell from his continued spoken word efforts that he’s starting with something he does really well: complaining about the current state of affairs. This three-disc set was recorded between 2002 – 2006, drawing heavily from his work done on the Rock Against Bush tour in 2004. As usual, he targets the current administration and it’s war, corporate bullies that want to go to war for higher profits, people wanting to censor the Internet, and of course, religion. Jello often makes really good points, and his dedication to the cause and his willingness to say unpopular things (even unpopular within his own subculture) makes me appreciate what he does. However, three CDs of this kind of thing wears pretty thin after a while, even for a dedicated fan. If you have patience and you’re interested, I’d suggest listening to this in small doses, and then pad the listening sessions with a trip to the library or a blast of some good old rock ‘n’ roll.

Playing a mix of bargain basement LPs, sidewalk sale cassettes, merch bought at shows, field recordings, comedy, instructional materials, etc.-- as well as NEW music that the professor determines is not receiving its proper due.
Hosts Josh Gross (editor, the Rearguard, PSU's alternative newspaper) and Matt Petrie (former editor, the Vanguard, PSU's daily student newspaper) tackle campus news, politics and life.
The Mouthguard provides a forum for the Portland State community to discuss issues that impact them and to hear the story behind the story from the newsmakers themselves. Weekly guests from around the university provide commentary and insight into the week's top issues on campus from a multitude of angles and viewpoints, and take questions from the PSU community at large.
A sweet new album is also featured on the show each week.
This show is a place for different DJs to showcase programming that you won't find anywhere else. From in-studio performances, old episodes of our favorite programs, or produced pieces for one-time broadcasting, this show is an ecclectic mix of what our station offers every single week.

The Omega Boys Club/Street Soldiers was founded in 1987 as a program of the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House by Joe Marshall, a middle school teacher and administrator, and Jack Jacqua, a middle school counselor. Both men were concerned about the number of African American youth who were dropping out of school and/or becoming involved in the drug trade. At first, the Club offered tutoring, basketball, and other positive recreational and educational activities. As the founders began to understand the prevalence and severity of the issues these youth were facing, they realized a deeper level of intervention was needed.
