The Growlers Hung at Heart

The Growlers are five dudes from Orange County that bring the sun, the waves, the alcohol and the drugs all into one reverb drenched sound wherever they go, including on their third full length release under the Everloving label. Hung at Heart features 15 songs, and shows the new direction the band is taking. With more influence from classic country mixed in with their usual sound, descried mainly as beach goth, the album is summed up in the opening lines of the first song: "Hang on for the ride, I think I feel a change of tide..." and that's exactly what it is, a change of tide with new songs describing heartbreak that display a more mature sound. The band will be playing a show at the Star Theatre in downtown Portland on February 15th, a small stop in their national tour. Check out their new song Someday below:
