Suspect Terrane

In Suspect Terrane is also the title of a book by John McPhee about geologists. A suspect terrane is a foreign piece of land that may come from far or near, but has crashed into a continetal plate. Like plate tectonics, IST crashes world, folk, blues, country rock [that's a pun!] and other forms of music into the very different continental lithology of metal. Or maybe its vice verse.
