PLUS: Atlanta Pop Festival: July 4, 1970. It was an unbearable 115-degree day that caused performances in the second annual Atlanta International Pop Festival to be delayed until late that evening. Jimi Hendrix was scheduled for the prime slot that afternoon, but instead went on after midnight. His focus was solely on the music--and the music it was!
