VÉRITÉ // FFO: LANY, XYLØ, Transviolet, Oh Wonder
After the release of her sophomore album The Valley, Betty Who set out on tour and brought on VÉRITÉ as her opener. On April 28 they’ll bring their beautiful, catchy, pop music to Portland’s Wonder Ballroom. Grab tickets ahead of the show here, multiple ticket options are available with different VIP packages. Doors are at 8pm, and the show starts at 9pm. Be sure to get there early to catch VÉRITÉ’s set.
After releasing three EPs (2014’s Echo, 2015’s Sentiment, and 2016’s Living) VÉRITÉ will be releasing her debut album somewhere in between on June 23. The album consists of 13 tracks, all new material not previously released on her EPs, and features her two singles “Phase Me Out” and “When You’re Gone.” Another notable release was her recent cover of The 1975’s “Somebody Else” which currently has over 64 million streams on Spotify. If her prior work is any indication of the sound of her upcoming album, and her performance with Betty Who, it is an album and show worth looking into. In a review for her EP Living, Audiofemme discusses the EP “from the beginning of the album to the end, it changes from upbeat singles to a collective piece of varying sounds, showing that VÉRITÉ isn’t willing to be confined to just one genre.” VÉRITÉ is something special, and an artist that is different from the electropop/synth music scene that is growing in popularity. Drawing from different genres, sounds, and inspirations, she’s transformed her own music and proven to be a unique artist. somewhere in between is shaping up to be a powerful release for VÉRITÉ, and her opening set for Betty Who is definitely worth going to.
Check out VÉRITÉ’s first music video she’s ever done, and so far the only music video she has made for her music, for her single “Phase Me Out” below:
