Monqui presents and brings another incredible show to Portland’s Roseland Theater: AFI with Circa Survive and Citizen. On August 4 AFI brings their music and incredible live show to the Roseland on August 4. The show is all ages, doors open at 8pm, and music begins at 9pm. More information can be found here, and tickets can be purchased in advance for $34.50 here.
Formed in 1991, with ten studio albums later, and holding the same band lineup since 1998 (lead vocalist Davey Havok, drummer Adam Carson, bassist Hunter Burgan and guitarist Jade Puget) AFI shows no sign of stopping or slowing down. Their tenth and most recent studio release AFI (The Blood Album) debuted on the Billboard 200 at #5 and received praise from the likes of Alt Press. The album has been called a triumphant return of AFI that shows the progression and evolution of the band, drawing influences from both their roots and each member’s side project, and an album that appeals to both new and older fans. Their take on their live performance mimics their studio releases: it’s set to be a high energy, nonstop, and theatrical show featuring Davey Havok’s dynamic stage presence at the forefront.
AFI has been on tour since January, and mixing up the setlist each night. Fans can expect a diversity of songs played from all ten of the band’s albums during this energetic and dynamic set, including songs played for the first time in years such as “Triple Zero” off Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes.
