Chicks ROCK! vol. 4

Written by on March 3, 2016

Again another ( Chicks ROCK! vol. 4 ) episode devoted to the AMAZATUDE of the female. In particular this is in regards to women in music, rock music mostly as that is my main focus of attention. Although this focus will occasionally wander into folk/country/roots/americana what ever you want to call that amalgam of genre bending songwriting. That kind of thing that just browses through the farmers market of expression taking a little bit from here and a little bit from there. (Chicks ROCK! vol. 4)

Speaking of genre, and style and such, I should take a moment here to mention. It doesn’t matter .. really, what other people want to call or label your art. Sure it can be annoying and it can occasionally hurt, especially it you aren’t interpreting other people’s opinions properly. (hint: they don’t really matter) What other people say and think may be highly influential to how the market, or the public perceives your work, but ultimately it doesn’t matter. That is if you are producing work, that act of completing the physical manifestation of your ideas or impulses. That process of doing-finishing-sharing. THAT is the most important part of all in my opinion. Assuredly there are a myriad of commercial considerations that keep people producing their “art”, but for many it is simply an elusive practice of chasing, not so much perfection, but improvement, because perfect simply does not exist. And if and when it does, it is only so ever so briefly and from a limited viewpoint. Perspective is so weird.

The tracks here are quite fine, I wouldn’t say any are perfect but there may be some, somewhere at some point in time who said they were.

Part of me hates writing this due to the pointless nature of the activity, yet I do find the process oddly gratifying.
