What Was Sound Festival 2017 ft. DIIV, Woods, El Ten Eleven, + More
Written by Juice on April 6, 2017
Presented by Sub Rosa Curation and the Portland Rose Festival, “What Was Sound” brings together some of Portland’s best upcoming bands like Small Leaks Sink Ships and Bed with critically acclaimed indie acts DIIV, Woods, and El Ten Eleven during Memorial Day Weekend, ringing in the summer with a one-day, all-ages festival that is absolutely essential for the Portland music fan.
Ranging from the hazy shoegaze of DIIV to the kaleidoscopic folk nuances of Woods, What Was Sound is a lineup that highlights the Portland underground’s taste in music from top to bottom, as evidenced by the inclusion of Portland-favorites Bed and Small Leaks Sink Ships. Unlike many other festivals in Oregon, What Was Sound is actually affordable ($28 for 6+ bands and access to the Rose Festival Carnival) and maintains its low price without bowing down to any major corporate sponsors.
More bands will be announced soon too, so get your tickets while they’re still available.
